About the project
Guided by the concept of “stylised nature,” the design of the Mondrian Gold Coast Hotel celebrates the organic beauty of Burleigh Heads, Australia - where soft, flowing forms echo the rhythm of the ocean and the surrounding landscape.
The Urbanstone Chalk (F2280), applied on walls, doors and kitchen furniture, evokes the tactile essence of stone while maintaining a refined, contemporary feel. The textural Yosemite Pearl (FCR01), featured on wardrobes, brings a sense of warmth and balance through its soft, natural tone. In contrast, Cuoio Canyon (FCL02) lines the interior of the wardrobes, adding a subtle note of sophistication with its leather-like texture.
Together, these Innovus surfaces embody Studio Carter’s design philosophy and aesthetic vision. For Robbyn Carter, this collaboration reflects shared values and creativity. “Innovus was the ideal choice because its portfolio offered the natural, sustainable materials essential to achieving the warm, sophisticated and serene atmosphere we envisioned. The products are stunning, but the partnership was just as important — Sonae Arauco worked closely with us to bring our vision to life.”
Carter adds: “They helped us get the feeling right, selecting colours and textures that echo the landscape while meeting Mondrian’s level of luxury. Their commitment to sustainability - from forest certifications to a circular bioeconomic model - gives us confidence to specify a beautiful, high-performance product with verified environmental credentials.”
