Over 30 speakers from well-known international brands were on the Sonae Arauco Stage to talk about the future of retail, discussing topics such as the hypermarket of the future, with Valter Freitas from Sonae MC, the digital transformation, with Malcom Haylett from IKEA, and the future of street trading, with Councillor Ricardo Valente from Porto Municipal Council.
According to the organisers, over two thousand people attended the event held at the Porto Customs House. The East Room at the Customs House seemed almost too small for the exhibition, which took up 1,000 m2, and the specially created auditorium.
“More than the number, what was extremely satisfying was the quality of the event and the weight and importance of the brands that were attracted to it, as seen in the big names in national retail present at the Iberia Retail Show”, the Executive Director of the event, Bruno Moreira, summed up.
Several speakers, exhibitors and visitors also pointed out that the first Iberia Retail Show was marked by the direct impact it was able to create on the retail sector at Iberian level.
