Guava at the Evangelical Lichtenstern Gymnasium Sachsenheim:
A world of color that invites learning
The Evangelical Lichtenstern Gymnasium Sachsenheim (ELGS) has reinvented itself. As part of a comprehensive interior redesign, selected areas were transformed to create an environment that ideally supports the new educational concept. A key element of this redesign is the Innovus® decor Guava with its soft Super Matt texture.
The decision to use the warm, subtle rosé tone Guava was no coincidence. It references already existing soft pink wall surfaces in the building and expands this color palette harmoniously. Guava creates a “Warm Clarity” by adding a new sense of comfort to the architecture, which is often defined by exposed concrete and dark façade elements.
The intentional interplay of Guava with other materials shapes the distinctive atmosphere of ELGS: the rosé tone engages in a dialogue with natural wood surfaces, the fresh accents of integrated plants, and the neutral gray tones of the building structure. The result is well-balanced spaces that feel both stimulating and comforting.
The color scheme supports concentration, creative exchange, and community. It takes into account the different needs of students: younger age groups find playful, open zones, while older students appreciate spaces for retreat and a calm base for personal development. Guava conveys a sense of security and belonging without visually dominating.
Whether in modular furniture elements, as wall cladding, or in flexible functional areas: Guava ensures a consistent visual harmony throughout the entire school building. The balance between stability and vibrancy makes ELGS a place where students feel comfortable and can fully develop their potential.
“Our goal was to fill the architecture of ELGS with warm clarity and to create spaces that combine learning with joy and a sense of security. The interplay of Guava with other materials was crucial in achieving this, creating an environment that inspires our students and supports them in their learning process,” explains Isabell Ehring, interior architect.
