Villa Duna Maria

About the project

Located in Fuzeta, a picturesque fishing village in the Algarve (Portugal), Villa Duna Maria is a house over 120 years old that has been given new life thanks to Innovus decorative panels.

The project was designed by Gonçalo Novaes, interior designer and content creator, who embraced the challenge of restoring this historic space. The choice of the Innovus Collection was strategic, integrating decorative panels as a central element in creating a coherent and harmonious visual language throughout the space.

Special mention goes to the Italian Echo (M6341) and Canasta (F2323) decorative panels, selected for their texture, tone and durability. These materials are designed to withstand daily wear, while maintaining functionality and the aesthetic balance that respects the minimalist and welcoming concept of Villa Duna Maria.

The panels were applied to bed headboards, wardrobes, shelves and custommade furniture, creating a natural and fluid continuity throughout the interiors.

“Choosing the tones, textures and colours, and ensuring the materials can handle everyday use, were decisive factors in selecting the decorative panels,” explains Gonçalo Novaes.

A partnership based on shared values

Contact with Sonae Arauco came at a decisive stage of the project, leading to close collaboration marked by constant dialogue, dedicated support and true teamwork.

“From communication to advice and project execution, it was an exceptional partnership, in a house made by people, for people. I felt I wasn’t building it alone. It was inspiring to get to know Sonae Arauco and work with such versatile and inspiring materials.”
