PB and MDF in E05 Quality:
Sonae Arauco fully compliant with current and future requirements
In recent years, formaldehyde emission requirements for wood-based panels have become increasingly stringent. While E05 is currently discussed as a future benchmark at EU level, Germany already introduced stricter national formaldehyde emission limits in January 2020.
Manufacturers supplying the German market therefore had to ensure early compliance with these requirements.
Against this background, Sonae Arauco has aligned its portfolio in the NEE region with E05 requirements since 2020. Both particleboard (PB) and medium-density fibreboard (MDF) products meet E05 formaldehyde emission levels, ensuring regulatory security today and in view of future EU developments. This applies to Core & Technical® products as well as decorative panels from Innovus®.
Our standard products, PB P2 and MDF ST, are E05-compliant, as are many of our speciality solutions in both product groups.
The fact that Sonae Arauco has been supplying E05-compliant PB and MDF in Germany since 2020 demonstrates long-standing experience and technical expertise in low-emission solutions. This early alignment with national requirements provides customers with planning reliability, proven production standards and a solid basis for meeting future EU regulations.
